Florida laws clear path for 38-story tower on site of South Beach’s historic Savoy Hotel

A slice of historic Art Deco architecture in Miami Beach’s South of Fifth neighborhood is slated for replacement with a 38-story residential tower under a pair of controversial state laws.  Allied Partners wants to develop the project with a hotel, 90 condo units and 60 workforce rental apartments on the site of the Savoy Hotel at 425 Ocean Drive.
