Palm Beach County doubling down on data center pause

Palm Beach County moved forward with its potential moratorium on hyperscale data centers as it debates how to regulate the booming industry, bringing the county a step closer to a full-year ban on the proposals. County commissioners on Thursday voted unanimously to pursue a proposed pause on large-scale data centers, saying the county needs more time to understand their impacts.  The proposal comes as developers attempting to enter the booming industry find themselves facing failed votes and growing hostility from local governments pressured by their constituents.
