Waste Management pays $379M for landfill site as Miami-Dade’s own facility search stalls
Waste Management dropped $379.4 million for a large tract in Medley that it plans to use as a landfill site. The purchase comes as Miami-Dade County has been searching for its own trash facility after its incinerator was destroyed in a 2023 fire, a search that’s turned into a quagmire due to the cost and political battles.
