Live Local Act sponsor Vicki Lopez heads to runoff in Miami-Dade

The Miami-Dade County commissioner who sponsored Florida’s Live Local Act as state representative was pushed into a runoff after falling short of a majority in Tuesday’s election.  Vicki Lopez, the District 5 county commissioner who served as a Republican in the Florida House of Representatives, received just over 42 percent of the vote, falling short of the 50 percent needed to win outright.
