South Florida Dirt: Opposition mounts to Florida’s proposed property tax amendment

Florida’s proposed property tax amendment, which residents will vote on come November, is garnering more criticism than expected.  That could be because the ballot item, which now has a new name and language thanks to a court-ordered rewrite, may create more problems than solutions. Late last month, the Florida chapter of the Fraternal Order of Police announced it opposes Amendment 3, even though the organization supports property tax relief.
